Call for papers

You experts from universities and research institutions, from industry and politics are invited to take part in the conference and to submit presentation proposals addressing one of these topics.

The conference languages are German and English.The conference lectures and the slides can be presented in both languages.
A simultaneous interpretation of the German lectures into English will be offered for international participants.

Submission

Potential contributors are kindly asked to submit an extended abstract (max. three DIN A4 pages) on one of the main topics of the conference, either in German or in English, until March 31, 2019. (.dotx and .tex (as zip archive))

If you plan on presenting on our laptops, we kindly ask you to upload your presentation until 21 November 2019 for the formatting and compatibility check. Elsewise we cannot guarantee that it works.

Content of the extended abstract

  • Classification regarding the topic
  • Meaningful title
  • Abstract, incl. keywords (at least one DIN A4 page)
  • Personal data of the author(s) (name, address, position)
  • Preferred language of presentation, Name of lecturer

The program committee will decide on the acceptance of the submitted contributions as well as on their classification in the corresponding program session. The program committee has to make a selection because the number of lectures is limited due to time constraints.

The authors are kindly asked to submit the accepted contributions in the form of a manuscript for the digital conference proceedings. The manuscript should be between 8-16 pages long and be submitted in either German or English.

About the venue:

For the second time, the Research Center of RWTH Aachen University will host the International Railway Symposium (IRSA 2019) from 26.11 - 28.11.2019. The range of topics of the bilingual event (German/English) covers the entire system of rail infrastructure, vehicle technology and operation.

The symposium will take place at the Eurogress Aachen (Monheimsallee 48). Eurogress Aachen is located between Hotel Quellenhof and Neues Kurhaus at the green oasis of Aachen's city park, surrounded by fountains and old trees.

The welcoming address and keynote speeches will be held in the Brüssel Hall. Conference rooms 1, 2 and 4/5 are available for parallel lecture sessions. The keynote speeches and the sessions in th conference rooms 1 and 2 will be simultaneously translated into English.
